Keith Stattenfield flosses his teeth. He has been doing this long enough, and with enough seriousness, that it became a photographic project.

The pictures fall into three groups.

Around the World is Keith on location: landmarks, landscapes, and other places that seemed to call for dental hygiene.

Through History is the same man inserted into photographs that already existed. The past, it turns out, had plaque.

The Method is the control set. Santa Clara, 2007. Hawaiian shirt. Actual floss. These are the reference photographs everything else is measured against.
